Shutting the door to her car, Skye walks towards the building where her ELQ meeting will be held. She is pleased to note that her ankle no longer hurts. Even her head feels much better than it had the day before. Humming lightly to herself, she pulls open the heavy door to the building.
"Good morning, Ms. Quartermaine," Linda, her secretary, greets her.
"Good morning, Linda," Skye says cheerfully. "How are you this morning?"
"Im doing quite well, thank you," Linda replies, a little surprised at Skyes friendliness. "How are you?"
"I couldnt be better," Skye says, smiling at the other woman. "Ill be in my office. Let me know when Mr. Klein arrives please." Linda nods.
"Of course, Ms. Quartermaine," she says, slipping her glasses back on and turning back to her computer. Skye smiles at her and proceeds to walk down the long hallway to her office. Opening the door and flicking on the light switch, a jolt of energy rushes through Skye. She still cant quite comprehend everything that has happened to her in the last 36 hours. Setting her things down on her desk, Skye walks over to the large window encompassing nearly an entire wall of her office and opens the white blinds. For a moment, she just stands still at the one, looking down at the gorgeous city far below. The early morning sunshine is reflecting off the skyscrapers all around her, and Skye cant help but feel as though she is on top of the world, looking down at all the buildings and people below. The ringing of the telephone jolts her back to reality and she hurries over to her desk and snatches up the phone.
"Skye Quartermaine," she says. "Oh hello, Ms. Perkins. Are you ready to discuss the deal?" Sitting down in her large leather chair, Skye shuffles through several folders until she finds the one she is looking for. After speaking to the other woman for quite some time, Skye smiles with triumph as the woman agrees to the deal. "Thank you very much," she says, before hanging up the phone. The day is a busy one for Skye, and before she knows it, it is 5:00 and time to go home. Putting on her long coat and winding a creme scarf around her neck, Skye carefully locks the door to her office.
"Have a nice evening," she tells Linda as she passes her on the way out. Taking the elevator down to the ground floor, Skye smiles to herself. As opposed to every other evening, tonight she actually feels as though she has somewhere to go. She never really felt that way about the Quartermaine mansion. Although she enjoyed spending time with Alan and Lila, she never really felt as though she fit in there. Throwing her things onto the seat next to her, Skye quickly turns up the heat in the car and turns on the radio. She turns on the ignition, but when she hears the song playing she sits competely still, mezmorized by the truth of the lyrics.
I cannot help it I couldn't stop it if I tried
The same old heartbeat fills the emptiness I have inside
And I've heard that you can't fight love, so I won't complain
'Cause why would I stop the fire that keeps me going on?
'Cause when there's you, I feel whole
And there's no better feeling in the world
But without you I'm alone
And I'd rather be in love with you
Turn out the lights now
To see is to believe
I just want you near me
I just want you here with me
And I'd give up everything only for you
It's the least that I could do
'Cause when there's you, I feel whole
And there's no better feeling in the world
But without you I'm alone
And I'd rather be in love with you
And I feel you holding me
Why are we afraid to be in love?
To be loved
I can't explain it
I know it's tough to be loved
And I feel you holding me
Oh, oh
And when there's you, I feel whole
And there's no better feeling in the world
But without you I'm alone
And I'd rather be in love
Yes, I'd rather be in love
Oh, I'd rather be in love with you
And I feel you holding me, oh
Skye is in a state of shock. First, the song earlier today and now this. Its almost as if someone is trying to send her a message, a message to put aside her fears and inhibitions and let her heart lead her actions. She makes a mental note to buy the CD which contains the song as soon as she can. Driving home slowly and carefully, a feeling of warmth radiates through Skyes body, a feeling she is completely unaccustomed to feeling. As she takes the elevator up to Jaxs suite, she is happier than she remembers being in a very long time.

"Its about time," Jax jokes as she enters his apartment. Skye smiles softly.
"Sorry," she says. "It was a busy day." Jax just smiles.
"Its going to be a busy night too," he said. "Hope you arent tired." Raising her eyebrows, Skye smirks at him.
"And what if I am?" she questions teasingly. Jax smiles innocently.
"Then youll miss out on all the fun," he answers lightly. "So, ARE you tired? Because if you are, I want you to tell me. Your health is the most important thing here."
"Im fine, Jax, really," she assures him. "So what exactly do you have planned thats so fun?"
"Thats for me to know and you to find out," he teases.
"How old ARE you?" Skye asks jokingly. "Five?" Jax laughs out loud.
"Why, is that how I act?" Skye only laughs at his teasing. "Seriously, Skye, I dont have any intentions of telling you where were going and doing this evening. But I will tell you that you have to change."
"Well, if you dont tell me where were going, how can I change?" she asks, her eyes glimmering when she sees the look on Jaxs face. He thinks for a moment before answering her.
"Just put on a dress," he says. "Nothing too formal, but a nice dress. Thats all Ill say," he says, giving her a quick kiss before disappearing into his bedroom to change.
"You really are something else, Mr. Jacks," Skye whispers quietly. She shakes her head, smiling, and heads into the guestroom to change.
When she returns to the living she takes a sharp breath as she sees Jax waiting for her. He is dressed in a black suit with a maroon shirt and tie. Just looking at him is enough to take her breath away. Meanwhile, Jax can barely breathe simply from the sight of Skye. She is wearing a deep lavendar dress which falls in an uneven hemline just under her knees. Delicate deep purple beads decrate the neckline of the spaghettie strap dress and Skye carries a matching shawl over her arm. Her hair is pulled back delicately and it spills down her back, moving as walks.
"Shall we?" Jax asks, offering Skye his arm. She smiles, unable to stop the slight pinkness from creeping into her cheeks.
"Of course," she says, taking his arm. She smiles in anticipation and cant help but wonder what Jax is planning.
