When Jax finally pulls back slightly, Skye finds herself gasping for air. She feels as though she cant breathe and takes long, deep breaths, feeling the air rushing back into her lungs.

"Wow," she mutters under her breath.

"Im sorry," Jax says quickly, bowing his head to look at Skye, whose head is once again resting gently on his right shoulder. "I shouldnt have done that. I dont want you to feel uncomfortable."

"Are you kidding me?" Skye asks, smiling softly up into his big blue eyes. "Not only should you have done that, but I want you to do it again. And if you dont do it again, I will. It doesnt make me uncomfortable in the least. I promise you that. I feel more comfortable with you than I ever have with anyone in my entire life. And whats more, you make me feel more comfortable with myself than I ever have before. I honestly cant imagine telling anyone else what I just told you, Jax. I never thought Id tell anyone about what she did to me, but Im glad I was able to tell you." Jax pauses for a moment, considering her words.

"Im glad you were able to tell me too, Skye," he says slowly. "I want you to remember what I told you tonight. You are one of the most special people Ive ever met, and I want you to always know that. No matter what Althea told you, promise me youll always remember that you are not worthless, youre so far from it. Youre everything and you need to know that." Skye nods lightly as a lone tear slips out of her eye and rolls down her cheek. Her skin tingles as Jax carefully wipes the tear away with his index finger.

"Now, are you going to kiss me again or do I have to kiss you?" she playfully demands, pushing the pain she had just admitted out of her head for the time being. Right now, all she wants to concentrate on is Jax. Jax laughs lightly.

"Youre awfully demanding," he says, glancing at the clock. "Dont you want to go back to sleep?" Skye quickly shakes her head.

"After I have these dreams, its almost always impossible for me to fall back asleep right away. The second I close my eyes, all the memories are going to come flooding back. I need something else to keep me occupied." Jaxs eyes twinkle against the shards of moonlight coming in through the window shades.

"Theres lots of things that could keep you occupied," he says thoughtfully. "You could work on some business for ELQ, you could write a novel, you could sew some socks..." At this point, Jax has to bite his lip to keep from laughing. He cant exactly picture Skye sewing anything. He continues on. "You could bake a cake, make me a fancy breakfast, read a book, teach me how to dance, go shopping for some new clothes..." Skyes eyes gleam mischieviously as she lifts her head from his shoulder, never once removing her eyes from his face.

"Shut up," she says lightly before quickly pressing her own lips to his. Moving her left arm up slowly around his neck, Skye draws him closer to her. She feels Jaxs right arm tighten around her waist as he kisses her back, deeply and full of passion. Just the simple touch of his arm around her is enough to line Skyes back with hundreds of tiny goosebumps. His lips on hers causes her face to flush, but she couldnt possibly be happier. She knows that this is not only what she wants and needs, but what is right. To Skye, it feels like nothing she has ever experienced before, and it is at this moment that she knows for sure that she is completely in love with Jax. The thought scares her, but not as much as it would have earlier in the night. Putting the thought aside for the time being, Skye gently reaches up with her right hand and strokes his cheek. When her hand comes to a rest on his neck, she can feel the blood pulsing through his veins. She realizes his pulse is racing and wonders briefly if hers is too, before returning her full attention to kissing him. Her mouth parts slightly as Jax pulls away gently. Breathing heavily, Skye only looks at him. A soft squeal escapes her as he softly brushes his lips over her neck. Her heart pounds and she tilts her head as he slowly trails a line of kisses down the side of her neck. Gently pushing aside her silk robe, he places a final kiss on her shoulder before returning to her mouth. As she eagerly kisses him back, Skye lightly runs her hand up and down his spine. Jaxs back quickly becomes covered in goosebumps from Skyes touch and he shifts slightly, leaning back against the headboard. When Skye moves to lightly kiss HIS neck, Jax feels as though he is about to pass out. He is delirious with a combination of emotion, passion, and, he realizes love. As Skye continues to trail sweet kisses down his neck, he realizes that he is love with her. Even though hed tried so hard to fight it, it had happened and it wasnt going to go away. Right then and there, he knew it was their destiny to be together. He decides, however, not to voice his feelings for the time being. He returns his thoughts to the woman lying in bed with him, kissing her once more, almost with a sense of urgency, as though he cant control himself. But something forces him to stop and pull away.

"What?" Skye asks, her voice raspy with emotion and desire.

"I just want to be sure this is what you want, Skye," he says. "Youve been under a lot of pressure and stress lately and I want to be sure youre thinking clearly."

"Ive never been more sure about anything in my entire life," Skye assures him. "Why, do you not want this?" she asks seriously.

"I do, Skye, I want this more than anything, but I just had to be sure that you did too. You mean too much to me to let something like this ruin it all." Skye cant believe how amazing Jax is, and how amazing he makes her feel. Closing her mouth, Skye simply reaches over and gives Jax a hug.

"Theres really no words to describe what Im feeling right now," she says to him, laying her head lightly on his chest. She fights the urge to tell him she loves him, deciding it best to wait before saying that. Instead, she simply lifts her head and kisses him again, silently squealing with delight as he gently pushes her robe off her shoulder. At that moment, although neither knows it, they are each thinking the same thought: how could this night be any better?
