Jax leads Skye back towards the car and opens the door for her. As she gently slides in, he smiles into the air with happiness. He gets in the car and carefully pulls away. For awhile, the two ride in silence, deep in thought. When Jax slows the car to a stop, Skye is jolted from her thoughts. As Jax opens the door for her and takes her hand, she feels a rush of joy. He leads her through a set of extravagant double doors into a fancy restaurant. As they are seated at a small table, each smiles gently at the other, happy simply to be with each other.

"This is so perfect," Skye murmurs softly, looking all around her at the gorgeous restaurant. The lighting is dim, but enough to illuminate all the flowers decorating the walls and tables. Small candles sit on each table, giving the room a soft feeling and decor. Jax just smiles at her happiness and lightly kisses her hand. As the two eat dinner, Skye cant help but feel that something else is planned. The twinkle never leaves Jaxs eyes as he watches her. When the dinner is over, Jax pulls Skye from her seat and leads her back to the car.

"Ready to go home?" he asks. She looks over at him, puzzled.

"Whatever you want," she says. "As long as you go with me." He nods, eyes gleaming.

"Well, that can be arranged," he says thoughtfully. "And Im NOT ready to go home yet." Skye giggles softly. She looks out the window as Jax drives slowly along the river. When he stops, she realizes they are at the shore of the river. As she follows Jax slowly to his yacht, she cant help but wonder what he is planning. She steps carefully onto the boat and follows Jax to the far side. Her eyes widen as she steps around the corner. Hundreds of sparkling little lights decorate the railing of the boat. Dozens of red roses, like the ones Jax had given her, are interspersed throughout the lights. Jax gently drops her hands and walks away for a moment. When he returns, he is carrying a small stero. Setting it down on the table, he gathers Skye into his arms. As he gently sways her around to the music, she lightly lays her head on his shoulder, the breeze drifting slowly across the boat. He pulls her closer, wrapping his arms around her. For what seems forever, the two dance, forgetting about everything and everyone else in the world. Finally Skye pulls away slightly, walking over to the rail with Jax following.

"I dont even know what to say to you," she says softly. "There are really no words to describe how strongly I feel." He nods, in complete agreement.

"You dont have to say anything," he says, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. "I feel the same way." He pauses for a moment, considering his thoughts. Looking into Skyes eyes, the words suddenly come. "Its kind of like we are each others destiny," he says. "You came into my life at a time when I never thought I could love anyone again, but you showed me I was wrong. You have changed my life so much, Skye," he says, his voice trailing off. Heart pounding and tears freely flowing down her cheeks, Skye nods.

"You know, Jax," she begins. "I never believed in love. I never really thought it was possible. I used to, but I was hurt so many times that it just became unreal to me. I thought by closing my heart, I wouldnt be able to be hurt anymore. But I see now that by doing that, I was just hurting myself. I dont know how to thank you for teaching me that its ok to open my heart, its ok to care for someone, and that its ok for someone to care for me. You give my life meaning, Jax. You are everything to me." Now Jaxs eyes tear up and the impact of what Skye has said hits him. He nods slowly.

"I closed my heart off too," he said. "After I was hurt. I just didnt want that pain again. But, somehow, you were able to open my heart and now I see all the love thats there. Youve shown me love doesnt always mean pain, Skye, sometimes its just the best thing in the world." She nods, the breeze gently blowing the tendrils of hair hanging around her face. Jax takes her in his arms and squeezes her tight. "I love you so much. Promise me this is real, not a dream." Skye smiles.

"Its definitely real," she says happily. "You promise me that it wont end. I want to be with you forever, Jax, forever and always." She feels his grip around her tighten as he gently kisses her cheek.

"Forever and always," he repeats softly. "I promise, Skye, that we are going to be together forever. I can just sense it; youre my everything and Ill never let you go." With that he gently removes his arms and turns her towards him, lightly kissing her. She kisses him back, the full impact of his words hitting her. When she breaks away, she turns around and wraps Jaxs arms back around her.

"Ive never had a forever and always before," she says. Jaxs heart melts, happy that he is able to give her one.

"I promise you, Skye," he says, his voice slightly shaky. "This will be forever and always, because thats what you are to me. I cant imagine my life without you; you make it so much better. So, I promise you with all my heart that we are forever and always." Skye is dizzy from his words, but forces herself to remain standing. Nodding slowly, absorping his words, she leans back in his arms. Forever and always, she thinks. She smiles up at him.

"I guess sometimes things DO work out," she says, her voice thick with emotion. He only holds her tighter. "Forever and always," she says. "That has a nice ring." The two fall silent, each feeling as though they are in heaven. As Skye softly repeats the phrase, Jax holds her tight. Wrapped in each others arms, the phrase "forever and always" floating around them, Jax and Skye could not be happier, each filled with thoughts of their new life together.
