When Skyes meeting is finally over (she is convinced it took WAY too long) she hurries to her car, cradling the flowers in her arm. Carefully placing them on the seat next to her, she pulls out of the drive and heads for the Port Charles Hotel. The rain from earlier in the day has let up and there is even some late-afternoon sun peeking through the clouds. Pulling into the lot outside the hotel, Skye feels warmth run through her. Its unexpected, but she couldnt be happier. She gently picks up the flowers and heads upstairs. Opening the door, she smiles cheerfully.
"How was the meeting?" Jax asks, looking up from the leftover paperwork from HIS meeting. Skye smiles.
"It was good," she says. "An unexpected surprise made it much better." His eyes sparkle as he laughs gently. She tosses her purse on a chair and heads for the kitchen to fill a vase with water. Quickly doing so, she returns to the living room with the flowers in hand. She carefully places the vase on the coffee table and joins Jax on the sofa.
"How was YOUR meeting?" she asks. He grins.
"Ok," he answers. "But not as much fun as this," he adds, pulling Skye into his arms. She nods slightly in agreement, snuggling against his warm sweater. Its soft fabric gently rubs against her cheek and she says with content. He wraps his arms around her lightly, just holding her. As she leans back, she is aware of the fact that his heart is beating rather quickly. Cocking her head up slightly, she places a hand to his heart and feels it racing. She holds her hand there for an instant, looking up into his eyes. He places his hand gently on top of hers, holding it in place. As he bends down to kiss her, she positively melts with love. When he finally pulls away gently and hugs her, she is almost floating with happiness.
"Time to go," he says, standing up. She looks at him, surprised.
"I thought we were staying home tonight," she says. He simply shakes his head and pulls her towards the door. Eyes sparkling, she follows happily. She cant wait to see what he has in store, but realizes it really does not matter as long as shes with him. As he leads her through the door and to his car, her heart pounds loudly as she hurries to keep up.
