Skye deeply inhales as she walks into the restaurant behind Jax. The aroma of the cooking food floats through the air as the waitress seats them at a small table. Opening the menu, Skye scans the choices, trying to decide what looks the best. The waitress comes over to the table and looks at them expectantly, smiling.
"Ill have the french toast," Jax says, closing his menu. "And some coffee, please." The waitress nods, writing down his order. She turns her head to look at Skye.
"Ill have the belgian waffle," she decides. "And tea." The waitress nods again, gathering the menus and hurrying away. As they sit and wait for the food to arrive, Jax reaches across the table and takes Skyes hands. Her heart warms at the sweet gesture. He gently holds her hands at his and smiles at her. The food arrives and Jax gently lets go of Skyes hands. The breakfast goes by quickly, each simply happy to be with the other. As they leave, Skye groans. Jax looks over at her.
"We left the umbrellas in the car," she said. "Since it had stopped raining." Now, on the other hand, the rain is pouring down in torrents from the sky. Jax laughs at the dismayed expression on Skyes face. Eyes twinkling, he grabs her hand and pulls her off the sidewalk into the parking lot. Her eyes widen and she squeals in protest. As he runs to the car, pulling her with him, she tries to shield her face. She slides into the car and pulls the door shut. As Jax slides into the drivers seat, she bursts out laughing. His blond hair is plastered to his face and his clothes are drenched. She knows she must look the same, but she doesnt care. She smiles lovingly at Jax, deciding he looks cuter than ever. Meanwhile, he stares at her, noticing her wet hair hanging around her face and her absolutely soaked clothes. He pulls her towards him and gently wipes the rain off her cheeks. His touch sends a warm feeling radiating through her body, wiping away the chill from the rain. As her kisses her, the warmth grows into heat as she feels more in love than she can comprehend.
"We better get home," Jax says. "You have to change for your meeting and I have a meeting for another company." She nods, slowly extracting herself from his arms and turning on the heater in the car. It is still pouring as they reach the Port Charles hotel. They make a run for the hotel, only succeeding in becoming even wetter. Jax quickly unlocks the door to his room and they walk in. Jax grabs a towel from the closet and gently reaches over to wring out Skyes hair from the rain. Faces close together, each breathes in deeply.
"I love you," Skye says, short of breath. The look in his eyes tells her he feels the same way. Dropping the towel on the floor, he pulls her close, pushing aside her wet hair. She sighs with content as his lips meet hers in a soft kiss. For the time being, they remain, all business forgotten.
