Skye groans as she stares at the clock, which reads 3:00 am. She KNEW she shouldnt have had that coffee, she just knew it. She shifts her position slightly to the left and peers over at Jax. His back is to her, but she can tell from his steady breathing that he is fast asleep. Unaware of the soft smile spreading across her face, Skye simply watches him, her heart filled with love. She quietly gets out of bed and walks into the living room. She sits on a chair by the window, staring at the full moon outside. As she stares, she cant help but feel more emotional than ever. She plays the events of the past week over and over in her mind, still unable to quite comprehend everything that has happened. Skye jumps slightly as she hears a creak behind her.
"Couldnt sleep?" Jax asks, coming over to join her. She shakes her head.
"Did you give me coffee on purpose to keep me awake?" she asks him jokingly. He chuckles.
"No, but thats a good idea," he says thoughtfully. "Youre awake with nothing to do." She laughs lightly, causing her silk robe to gently slide off her shoulder. Noting this, Jax moves closer and gently brushes her bare skin with his lips. Tiny goosebumps appear up and down Skyes arms and neck. Jax lightly touches her shoulder with his hand, pressing slightly on the goosebumps, causing them to disappear. Skye stands up slightly, allowing Jax to sit down, and sits back down on his lap. He gently runs his fingers through her silky red hair, loving the feel of it as it flows through his fingers. Skye tingles as his fingers gently brush the back of her neck. Her tingling intensifies as she feels his lips slightly brushing her neck. She twists gently around to face him. As she gently winds her arms around his neck, happiness and excitement rush through her veins. For a second, the two just stare at each other, completely enraptured. Skye takes a sharp breath as Jaxs lips meet hers. She kisses him back, as deeply as she has ever kissed anyone before. Her arms still wrapped around the neck, she gently lowers his face so she can reach better. For what seems an eternity, the two dont move.
"We should probably go to bed now," Skye says, looking at the clock which now reads 4:00 am. She stands up, bending down to pick up her robe, which had fallen to the floor. Jax takes her hand as the walk out of the living room. He slides into bed and grins as he hears Skye lay down next to him. Pulling her into his arms, he is exuberant just from her proximity. They lay quietly, drifting slowly off to sleep, wrapped in each others arms.
