As Skye kisses him deeply, Jaxs heart pounds with excitement. Skye finally pulls away and turns around, taking in the scene around her. She just stares, unable to comprehend it. Spread out in front of her is a gigantic soft aquamarine picnic blanket, covered with food and outlined by altenating vases of flowers and tiny buckets with candles. Beyond the blanket, farther back in the distance, a gigantic striped hot air baloon towers into the sky. She shakes her head slightly, in a complete state of shock. Jax takes Skyes hand and gently leads her over to the blanket. Skye is light-headed with shock.

"Well?" Jax asks softly, smiling over at her. She opens her mouth, then closes it, searching for the right words.

"I, Im speechless, Jax, I dont know what to say," she murmurs, her eyes misty both from the gorgeous scene in front of her and the fact that Jax cared enough to make it happen.

"I love you Skye, so much. You are everything and more to me and I cant even begin to describe the way you make me feel inside. You are juzt amazing and I love you more than I can say." Skyes heart is racing and she is dizzy with joy. Tears once again running down her cheeks, she turns and gently strokes Jaxs cheek.

"You have changed my whole life Jax. You have shown me that there is such a thing as love, that I can love and can feel loved. Thats never been true for me before. You are the bright spot in my whole world and I cant imagine being without you. My life has been so hard, but I see now thats because it makes the present, and you, seem so much more magical." Now, tears leap into Jaxs eyes. Wordlessly, he takes Skye into his arms and she leans backwards on his shoulder. For the next fifteen minutes they just sit in each others arms, completely content, never happier. Skye is overwhelmed by how in love she really is. She stares into the distance in a daze. Jax wakes her from her daze by gently kissing her bare shoulder. She tingles at the touch. Snapping out of her daze, she sits up and turns to Jax. He smiles.

"Ready for dinner?" he asks and she nods. He carefully prepares two plates of food. As he hands her the plate, their fingers slightly brush and each feels the spark between them. Jax listens as Skye talks, her voice soft against the quiet night. He just cant believe how wonderful she is. After dinner, he takes a plate of chocolate covered strawberries from the basket and hands it to her. She takes a bite and smiles.

"Absolutely delicious," she tells him. When they are finished, he takes her hand and pulls her up. Grabbing her purse and sweater, Skye follows Jax to the balloon. Her whole body is bursting with excitement as Jax helps her into the balloon and then follows. They smile at the operator for the balloon and sit in the little basket. As the balloon slowly rises over Port Charles, Skye snuggles deep into Jaxs arms, laying her head lightly on his shoulder. His soft kiss on her neck makes her feel warm against the chilly night air. The balloon slowly rises as the two anticipate with pure joy the rest of the evening.
