Several hours later, after spending the better part of the day just hanging out, Skye and Jax decide they really SHOULD do at least a little work for ELQ. Gathering all her paperwork, Skye moves to the table and sits down. Taking out a pen, she bends her head down slightly, skimming the page. Her hair falls in front of her eyes. Quickly tucking it back behind her ear, Skye suddenly can just FEEL someone behind her. She smiles to herself as she hears Jax behind her. He simply stands for a moment, watching her work, before joining her at the table with more paperwork.
The two work for several hours into the early evening. When they are finally finished, it is 5:00. Jax pushes back his chair and looks at Skye. She stares back at him expectantly, pushing back a strand of hair.
"Go get dressed," he says. "Were going out to dinner." She smiles, pushing back her chair and giving him a quick hug.
"Youre too much," she says before hurrying to the bedroom. Pausing before the closet, Skye ponders what to wear from the selection she had already transferred to Jaxs. She finally decides on a deep violet dress made of a soft flowing fabric. Small violet beads line the neckline, which drops low on the right shoulder. Pulling her hair back on either side with a sparking clip, Skye smiles happily. Slipping on silver sandals and grabbing a purse, Skye walks out of the room, stopping still at the sight of Jax. He is standing in the center of the room, holding a single pink rose in his hands. As she nears, he hands it to her, taking in her outfit and thinking how absolutely stunning she looks.
"Ready?" he asks softly. She nods, wrapping her shawl around her shoulders. Taking her hand, Jax leads her out of the room and towards the elevator. When they arrive on the ground floor, Jax leads Skye to his car and they slide in. Arriving at the restaurant, Jax pulls into a spot and walks around to open Skyes door. She gets out and looks around, trying to determine where they are. They walk into the restaurant and Jax whispers to the owner, who smiles and nods. Taking Skyes hand once more, Jax leads her through the restaurant to the back porch. Several tables sit on the back porch, which overlooks the bay. Skye and Jax sit, the breeze gently blowing. Skye removes her shawl and puts it in her lap.
As they eat, the scene could not be more peaceful or serene. Skye finds herself staring into Jaxs eyes more than anything else. The moonlight is reflecting in them, which Skye finds captivating. After dinner, Jax leads Skye down to the docks and into a small boat. The cool breeze makes Skye shiver and she wraps the shawl around her bare shoulder. Jax edges across the boat to her and removes the shawl, replacing it with his arms. Feeling her cool skin under his arms sends a chill running through him. At the same time, his warm touch on her shoulder sends sparks through her body. The boat drifts gently out until they are in the middle of the bay. For the next hour, they simply sit, enjoying each others company and staring up at the stars. Jax gently pushes Skyes hair to the side and kisses the back of her neck softly. She sighs with joy, snuggling deep into his arms. As Jax turns the boat around, each is lost in a fantasy world, happy and full of joy.
"This is like a dream, Jax," Skye whispers softly.
"Its better than a dream, Skye," he says. "Its a dream come true." The boats drifts slowly towards the shore and the two get out, heading towards Jaxs car.
"You know, Jax," Skye says. "Every day just gets better and better." His heart fills with joy.
"I feel the same way," he says, stopping to kiss her lightly. "And its only 10:00. The night is still young," he continues, eyes sparkling. Skye laughs with pure joy and follows him to the car.
