Skye sighs as she loads all her things into the car for the trip to the airport. It had been such a perfect weekend. She wished it wasnt over.
"Dont worry, its not over yet," Jax says from behind her, echoing her thoughts. He takes her hand and walks her outside to the front porch of the house. Sitting on a small glider, Jax turns to look at Skye, removing a long box from his pocket and handing it to her. Eyes widening in surprise, Skye takes the box and opens it. Inside is a gold, heart-shaped locket on a delicate gold chain. She takes it out of the box and Jax gently turns it around so she can see the back. Tears jump to her eyes as she reads the inscription: Forever and Always, Love Jax. She sits, speechless, staring down at the locket. Jax gently removes it from her hands and puts it around her neck. Tears streaming down her cheeks, she kisses him, holding him tight.
"A perfect ending to a perfect weekend," she whispers softly. He takes her hand and together they walk back to the car. The drive to the airport is a short one and soon they are on the plane. When they arrive back in Port Charles, Jax offers Skye his hand as they walk to the car. Each is silent on the drive back to the Quartermaine mansion, deeply in thought about the past weekend. When the arrive at the Quartermaines, Skye lightly kisses Jax on the cheek. "Ill be right back," she says, before running up the walk. Skye unlocks the door and walks inside, still glowing from the weekend.
"Skye!!" AJ says loudly, getting up from his chair. "Where have you BEEN?" Skye smiles coyly.
"Paradise," is all she will answer before running up to her room. Once there, she carefully packs two suitcases. Heading back downstairs, she pauses to look around. She shakes her head slightly and heads down. By this time, the whole family has gathered in the hall, waiting for an explanation. Monicas eyes widen with glee when she notices that Skye is carrying suitcases.
"Leaving?" she asks.
"Perhaps," Skye says nonchalantly. "Ill be in touch." With that, she walks past them all and back outside. Sliding back into the car, Skye cant help but giggle. Jax looks at her expectantly.
"Well?" he asks. She smiles, a spark in her eyes.
"I told them I was in paradise." Jax bursts out laughing.
"Ready?" he asks.
"You bet," she says, fastening her seat belt. As Jax starts the car, a feeling of excitement leaps into Skye. Sure, they had spent the weekend together, but now they were home and Jax STILL wanted to be with her. As Jax is driving along, Skye cant help but smile. She cant wait to see what will happen next.
